B6/7 Podiatrist

We are looking for a candidate that has the following skills and experience:

  • To be part of a highly motivated team, yet working independently in both community and acute settings, providing a high quality of clinical care.
  • To develop and implement individualised care plan for patients with a wide variety of clinical needs, including those with chronic diseases, high risk foot conditions, neuropathy, vascular problems, foot ulcers, musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions and nail problems causing pain/affecting mobility.
  • To plan and manage own clinical caseload without supervision, which will include providing podiatric care in complex high-risk patients, MSK patients and the provision of nail surgery.
  • To have a specialist interest in patients with complex podiatric high-risk conditions (such as Wound Care, Diabetes, Vascular etc) or MSK and be able to manage and deliver caseloads  within the specified area.
  • Provide podiatry advice/health education and instruct patients and carers, to provide direction and guidance on a range of Podiatry interventions.
  • To undertake skilled work managing patients in a range of environments, including health centers, hospitals, prisons, domiciliary and residential/nursing care homes.
  • To assist colleagues with challenging patients or those with complex needs who require more than one person to treat.
  • To use a range of verbal and non-verbal communication tools to communicate effectively with patients, relatives and carers. This will include patients who may have difficulties in understanding or with barriers to communication i.e., use of external multi agencies such as interpreters, liaison services, sign language, etc.
  • To provide administrative support to the department (e.g. maintaining stock levels, patient admin).
  • To securely access computer systems including Systmone, for the recording and actioning of patient information and treatment activity in line with Information Governance.
  • To submit accurate records of sickness, lieu time, study, expenses and annual leave and communicate effectively with the team/line manager.
  • To comply with the organisational and  departmental policies and procedures and to be involved in reviewing and updating as required.
  • This role is based in the Nottinghamshire area
