Specialist Clinical Pharmacist

To contribute to clinical medicines management duties in a specialist mental health team. Duties to include, but not limited to:

  • Ward round attendance.
  • Medicines management tasks associated with ward-based working (e.g. medicines reconciliation, admission and discharge counselling, prescription reviews).
  • Working with pharmacy team members to contribute to safe and effective use of medicines to all service users.
  • Clinical trial prescription handling.
  • Medicines information provision to staff and service users.

The post holder may also be asked to contribute to other duties, for example dispensing, accuracy checking, audit, and service development on an ad-hoc basis.

This is an ideal role for someone that would like to move into the field of psychiatry. The person taking the role is expected to have experience of hospital pharmacy work, even if they don’t have specific mental health experience.

This role is based in the Cambridgeshire area.
