It takes a certain skill set to be a Paediatric Occupational Therapist, especially one who works with special needs children. As there is a huge demand across the NHS for your skills you will be very well rewarded for this. This role will be a challenge, and the trust knows it. We can pay above the NHS rate caps and as you are managing your own case load you will have the flexibility that comes with hybrid working.
You will need to be a highly specialised Band 7 Paediatric Occupational Therapist with plenty of experience working in both mainstream and special needs schools.
Compassion and patience are essential as you'll be working with children that have profound physical and learning disabilities. This role will give you the chance to have a hugely positive impact in the children's lives by providing them with specialist equipment that will make their lives at school easier. Whether this be specialist seating, moving & handling equipment, or anything else that's required.
You'll be working closely with an MDT team of Physiotherapists and Speech & Language Therapists, and you will also be expected to work independently managing your own caseload.
There will be travel and you'll have to have a car or some form of transport for this as you'll be working with different schools in the area.
